Poco-poco has come to Tronoh. As far as I know there are 3 classes available:

Taman Tronoh Hijau - (as advertised above) every Wednesday 8.00am - 9.00am
Medan Bali Emas - every Thursday 8.00am - 9.00am
Klinik Kesihatan Kecil Tronoh - every Friday 8.00am - 9.00am

(Any questions, feel free to contact the numbers in the advert)

Many request this activity to be moved to Saturday morning (so those who work office hours) could join. Well... the instructor is still considering. Just keep coming to the present session. Any updates we'll let you know.

BURGLAR ALERT!!!!!!

Since last year, I've been hearing stories that houses in Tronoh and its nearby villages were robbed. Burglar/Burglars stealing some cash, necklaces, hand phones, lap tops and more. It happened as regular as monthly and then worsened by happening weekly. For God sake, WE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF A NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH TEAM!!!!

I heard that we were close in forming a RELA team but not enough men to participate. Some even said that they wont be getting enough sleep at night guarding. I really hope that this is just rumors. No men should be that selfish just because their home is not robbed yet. By the way, everyone should feel responsible in protecting the neighbourhood.

Kg. Nalla new outdoor fitness park

This new Kg. Nalla outdoor fitness park is situated next to the old basketball court and the reflexology park. I've been there for about two times (morning) accompanying my mother, looks like this public facility had good response from the locals at all age and gender. There are air walkers, waist stretcher, standing rotator, sit up board, tai chi dynamic hand, arm press etc. Although for some equipment, one should spend 5 to 15 min, for each of us, we used to spend less than 5 min before moving on to another. As you can see in the picture (taken at about 7.30a.m) there were many people and everyone is compromising each other.

I also heard that the 'poco-poco' activities every Friday at the government clinic been doing great too!

These photos are taken from my mother's shop, the only tailor left in tronoh that make the business visually commercial. Some work from home. Tronoh used to have about 4 other tailors that i could remember. 2 shops along the main road and the other 2 along the road opposite the market. All the tailors were old men and I was about 7 at that time.

This lady in the photos sells kuih in front of the market every evening and in the morning on tuesday. I believe she sells the best chinese 'kuih' since every evening she'll go home with her baskets empty. These kuih... look and smell tasty (sometimes i wish i could taste one). The business even go on as usual during the past Chinese New Year's evening.

Some small business really do well in Tronoh.

NST: Amputee blood donor worried about other leg

P. Manikam, 69, is bedridden as his left leg was amputated three years ago due to diabetes

TRONOH (2009/01/12 ) : P. Manikam donated blood so many times that he even caught the attention of the late Sultan Idris Shah of Perak, who presented him with a medal.
Now, however, the 69-year-old former cemetery worker needs help himself.

He lives in a bathroom of a colonial house here and is in dire need of funds to keep him going.

Manikam is bedridden as his left leg was amputated three years ago due to diabetes, while his right leg has turned black.

His sight is also failing and he has to go for a cataract operation. He can only see blurry images and cannot recognise anyone.
His wife, S. Thavamoney, 64, an asthmatic who stays in the kitchen of the colonial house, is his sole companion.

The couple have two sons. One stays in Sabah while the other has taken over Manikam's old job in nearby Papan Baru.

A third son died of cancer in 2007.

The bathroom and kitchen have been their "home" for the past 14 years due to financial difficulties. They pay RM50 a month as rental.

Manikam needs immediate medical attention for his leg.

He receives RM130 monthly from the Welfare Department but his expenses come to about RM400.

His son who works at the cemetery only receives payment whenever there is a funeral.
